The Shits-Race-Freeride-Event Recap
The Shits event is one that has been looked forward to for awhile.3 corners, some relatively quick straights and kinks makes it for a very exciting race hill. Unfortunately unable to attract any of the Cape downhill skaters, we were however joined by Lucien Uys from Durban and the Gauteng downhill scene has a bunch of new hungry racers progressing super fast.
Saturday kicked off with a few hours of freeride until we started with Luge and No paws down races. We had a total of 4 lugers joining in the stoke as well. Craig Harvey took 1st in the no paws down race and Elster claimed 1st in Luge. We also had one heat with all the groms and Nick de Boer claimed a healthy win. Open racing was the one to watch on the day, with almost every heat being super tight. The results for Open racing are as follows:
